THE SOUND OF SILENCE
All sounds are never meant to be heard,
some are meant to be felt.
Sound in the absence of sounds is a world of untold stories
in itself. The leaf detaching from its tree, is a story of its growing in it
and resulting severance. Have you ever heard the echoes of the leaves quenching
under the feet? How it has lived its life from a node to a full grown leaf? Then
with the harsh changes of the autumn, how it has struggled to resist those winds?
The pain the tree has experienced when its part was being separate, but as the
time has came, the countdown has started, it had to be detached, it has to
leave the place where it belongs same as we people, it is the cycle of life.
This is an unheard story from the world of silence where the sounds are felt.
According to Rumi, Silence is the master of our thoughts. Sound in the stillness, it is somehow the
sound of your inner self, conveying its sensation not using the tongue but with
your intuitions. The sixth sense we generally talk about is a part of this
world of stillness. Sound travels in medium forming waves, adjacently passing
by; this disturbs the stillness of the neighboring causing the echo and
breaking the chain of the sound of silence.
We hear that goes into our minds, following with the
understanding of those words, we start perceiving and by human nature
reasoning. Once our ability to reason is demolished we cannot perceive the
things as they are, we become clinically dead. So have you ever thought how the
deaf had been living in this world? They rather than hearing the sound waves
sense them and start perceiving. That’s how deaf live, in the world of silence.
Silence as a myth. Humans being are a social animal, who has
always been living in groups, forming colonies. And people by sharing their
traits form their ideas of living, usually named as their culture. Living in
this eastern society, it is a famous myth that silence is an indication for
something astonishing. Silence in terms of an irritating peace within oneself,
and most people perceive it in something negative.
Feelings are not dependent of words causing sounds; they are
the connections from their soul to others. They never felt silence but hear the
sound of silence.
Have you ever sat next to a person , not saying a word , just
sitting by side , feeling the surrounding, conversing with the silence and passing
on all what you mean to say or hear what
the other want to say? This is all the sounds interacting with stillness, with
silence.
Holding hands and walking side by side is a gesture of
trusting yourself with the other person as a sound of silence in the world of
their hearts. Emotions and moods are mostly never meant to be heard but are
meant to be professed by the other person as a gesture of knowing the inside of
the person in front.
People do need the expression for their emotions, you cannot
always be a success as human if you only say the words without feeling them and
the feelings are not taught by the academic curricular books, or it doesn’t
have a fix line to follow to succeed .At some phase of life you want or you
don’t, you become a person living in the world, where you could only hear the
sound of silence. Where you use the words depicting the world of stillness.
Later or now, future or in past, you would be or you have been somehow will be
or been a citizen of the world where you could only communicate through the
sound of silence.
This sound of silence is a blessing, helping us escape this
town a little while, going to a place of our thoughts, where our approach may
has restrictions. Travelling through a lapse of time, imagining a world beyond realization,
may be considered as utopianization but a world of me, the real me.
This world of silence has the words caged into the stillness
of surrounding. We being the humans have almost more or less the same blessings
as everyone around have physically, but the inner self is what matters, the
ability of the inner self to look into others and the situations with a
distinct vision is what matters in this world of silence.
Writing this blog, the
words floating in the silence over here, synchronizing back and forth, whispering
in my ears, what my mind want to say all with the sound of silence and the
power of words. It has been said:
“Silence holds within itself the
greatest stories that have ever been told”.
